BEWARE: The Mob Will Come For You, Too

Mob rule is a dangerous thing, and in our country we are seeing its effects daily.

A mob has no individual voices, only a conglomerate acting as one. Mobs generally don’t have ‘discussions’ or take time to ask questions or reflect – a mob has a mission, usually one of destruction.

A mob acts through violence and coercion for its end goal – it has grievances, and those grievances usually must be met with bloodshed. Hysteria rules, and those who give in to the hysteria, although temporarily placating the one voice of the mob, will eventually see the mob’s rage.

You cannot please people who are out for blood, with seething rage, and absolutely no knowledge of history, no desire to learn, no room for debate, no way to solve the problem without destruction and violence. You cannot solve these people’s problems. Their desire is one of annihilation. Victor Davis Hanson said something to the effect ‘..ignorance and arrogance are a dangerous combination’. So true.

Mark Zuckerburg and Facebook are facing criticism from people who want to stop ‘hate speech’ on his online platform. It is a private company, so one really can’t get overly upset about ANYTHING (sans the fact that they are ‘protected’ by our worthless ‘leaders’ in Congress), but because of its reach into so many people’s lives, it is interesting to at least discuss. What is ‘hate speech’? Who decides what hate speech is? Right now the hate is supposedly from people who are racist – but who decides who that is? It’s a never-ending circle of argument… I am banned from Facebook, I don’t even know why – but who made that decision to log me out and not allow me back on? I never posted anything political as of the past several years, and just wanted to advertise some pastries. Oh, and I own a company in the cannabis space… maybe that is racist?

The most awesome thing about this hatred and violence though, is that the mob starts to eat its own. Facebook is arguably very biased against conservatives (the same with Twitter, Instagram, etc.) – I think this is provable. But because this platform isn’t doing “enough” to stop the racism (by shutting people up on their online platform) – liberal people and companies aren’t advertising in a show of solidarity with the mob. It is fascinating because these people who have stopped advertising are attempting to ‘harm’ the very platform that got them to the position that they are in with their advertising dollars! I love it! They are eating their own…. good job mob!

Call it karma, but I do believe in goodness and by avoiding this altogether one will see that eventually this mob will turn on the people who are fueling it. And I can’t wait.

Day 106 – Reason for Hysteria? COVID Cases & Numbers

So apparently there is a record number in reported COVID-19 cases as of yesterday (in one day – 40,000 total) … and also it appears that many, many people, possibly MILLIONS have already had the virus without even knowing it. Does this make it worse… or better? If we have already had that kind of exposure, without even KNOWING IT, does that mean that we are building herd immunity and that the rate of hospitalizations and deaths are even lower? No, probably not, I think it is time for more hysteria!

So, as of today, the 106th day since I have been writing in my online journal about this insanity, here are our numbers:

WORLD – 9,742,302 Cases/492,474 Deaths

USA – 2,505,196 Cases/126,798 Deaths

COLORADO – 31,463 Cases/1,669 Deaths

EAGLE COUNTY – 670 Cases/8 Deaths

GARFIELD COUNTY – 252 Cases/2 Deaths

PITKIN COUNTY – 91 Cases/2 Deaths

MESA COUNTY – 87 Cases/0 Deaths (this county does NOT have mask requirement, interesting…)

I want to emphasize that EVERY LIFE MATTERS and that JUST ONE PERSON DYING from this terrible terrible virus is TOO MANY. ONE IS TOO MANY – and it is horrifying how many people are dying.

And since every precious life matters, I think we should treat all death equally and just remember the following from 2019 (from the CDC):

  • Heart disease: 647,457
  • Cancer: 599,108
  • Accidents (unintentional injuries): 169,936
  • Chronic lower respiratory diseases: 160,201
  • Stroke (cerebrovascular diseases): 146,383
  • Alzheimer’s disease: 121,404
  • Diabetes: 83,564
  • Influenza and Pneumonia: 55,672
  • Nephritis, nephrotic syndrome and nephrosis: 50,633
  • Intentional self-harm (suicide): 47,173

This is how many people DIED LAST YEAR. EVERY PRECIOUS LIFE. Because COVID-19 has brought to light how important it is to pay attention to viruses and underlying conditions that affect your IMMUNE SYSTEM, let’s look at what is killing people every day (and has been for decades).

Heart disease LAST YEAR killed well over half a million people. Where is the outrage? Cancer LAST YEAR killed over half a million people. Where is the outrage? Oh, by the way, these underlying conditions make it EASIER for the virus to infect AND kill you… why aren’t our “leaders” talking about this? Don’t they want to “save us”? This would be a great place to START – a healthier society can combat ANY virus better.

I understand that this is a very scary virus – I personally am horrified about the way it may mutate and how it may affect people forever after they are infected. But, since it may be impossible to find an EFFECTIVE vaccine (trust me, they will be ready to shoot SOMETHING into you lickity-split), maybe our society should talk about HEALTH.

I know, alarm bells are going off in your head… what the f$@* do you mean HEALTH? Why don’t we focus on treated the DISEASE? Pills, prescriptions, therapies, vaccines – that’s how you create health, right?

NO.

No, health starts with immunity, and although no one in any leadership position that I can see will talk about it – I will. Others do and need platforms to reach people who want to learn about true, innate immunity – given to us by our Creator, Mother Nature, GAIA, Earth, etc.

So let’s get mad – look at how many people died last year and are dying this year because of EVERYTHING…. and let’s actually do something to FIX IT.

Deleting History Doesn’t Change It

The amount of rage erupting around the country is startling – all of that anger and hate have to be directed SOMEWHERE, right?

It is heat in the body – this uncomfortable and unsettling heat that is burning in so many people’s hearts. Part from a sick body, part from problems in the mind, part from detachment of meaning/spirits/God/Universe – whatever – a detachment from the greater, the infinite, peace, the Divine. Part from righteous anger and indignation, I know because I feel this too.

So concerning to me are the removal of historic statues. With people standing and screaming like it is some type of great victory to ‘throw out’ this physical structure. First, this does nothing other than make you feel good for destroying something (been there). Second – erasing the bad history that you don’t like is probably the worst thing you can do for your cause. Because without history, we don’t have a roadmap for where we have already been. We don’t have a beat on what already happened. When you ‘erase’ history, you merely lose sight, you don’t do ANYTHING to create a positive change for the future.

It is dangerous to forget and remove history. History teaches us about what we have done as people – good and BAD – and this is how we learn about what was tried and what failed, and that is so important to creating a better world. Even if you don’t like something that happened – that doesn’t mean you just get to “erase it” – it HAPPENED. OWN IT. CHANGE IT. REMEMBER IT. DON’T JUST PRETEND LIKE IT NEVER EVEN HAPPENED!

Forgetting where you came from, even if it sucks, is a bad idea in any circumstance, but especially in economic and political history – as these are the areas that rule your life.

Banning the Confederate flag, desecrating and destroying Confederate monuments – makes you feel good, right? Well, what happens in 40 years when a young person sees this flag and asks what it is and there is no information on it anymore? No lesson about what it stood for – no remembrance of what it meant to people? If we KNOW about history, we are able to explain it and work from it. If we DO NOT KNOW HISTORY we are more likely to repeat the mistakes of our past and not create as vibrantly because we repeat ourselves.

I mean, we think we are pretty f-ing smart, but to be honest, I think we are actually devolving. Not long ago people believed in their immune systems, ate nutrient-dense foods, and didn’t even know what a vaccine was. Now we are all sick from the very food we put in our bodies, we look for drugs to mask our pain, and certain people in high places plan for us to take an untested vaccine (HOW CAN YOU REALLY KNOW A VACCINE IS SAFE UNLESS YOU STUDY EFFECTS FOR SEVERAL YEARS?!?!?!) for a virus that evolves and changes and that we don’t even really understand yet.

Apologizing for Opinions and Truth in Journalism

You see it all over – people’s voices getting silenced. You see it again and again – a group of angry people ready to aim and fire whenever someone says anything that they don’t agree with and they decry it screaming for an apology.

When looking up the latest news on the Denver riots, I say this headline from the WestWord that IMMEDIATELY spurred my interest because it is one of the first times I have seen something with the words “VANDALISM” and one of the first times I saw a headline take a negative stance towards the vandalism and violence. It said “Denver Riots’ Worst Act of Vandalism So Far“.

I went to click on the link, as you may have tried to above… and guess what?!?! IT IS GONE!

Why? Well, I am guessing because it said “Riots'” and “Worst Act” and “Vandalism”. It has been nearly impossible for the media to admit that among the peaceful protestors who are definitely the majority, that there is this very dangerous angry minority that are doing extreme harm to the entire community, including people of color and people stuck in poverty. Why it is so hard to say that, I am not sure… why is this page gone? What is the truth? The truth is EVERYTHING – the peaceful, the rioting, the prayers, the vandalism – it is all true – there’s no opinion when you present the truth… what happened to journalism and just presenting actual information?!?!?! Why are people being silenced who present data and differing information?!?!?!?!

The New York Times apologized for an op-ed (AN OPINION) from Tom Cotton – that obviously people may disagree with – that is the WHOLE POINT OF OPINIONS – so I am not sure what the issue is. Can’t we be liberal enough to agree to disagree? Liberalism is letting people speak and having open debate. Liberalism is NOT shutting people up because you don’t like what they have to say.

Drew Brees apologized for disagreeing with taking a knee during the National Anthem. It’s just his opinion. You can hate him for it – but doesn’t he have a right to feel that way? I don’t demand an apology from everyone I disagree with… I just disagree with them, even if it pisses me off. I am happy and proud to have differing opinions, not constantly insulted and outraged to the point of wanting to shut others up.

But, as I am finding out… I am not normal… and wanting peaceful protesting, vigorous debating, and intelligent, calculated, productive rebelling – is not what most people really want.

Tank rebelling against gravity today at the park. I think he is actually a Dragon. 😉

Nice Job Blacking Out The Real Message – Keyboard Warriors

June 2nd continued to prove the sad reality we face – when it comes to real issues and people thinking that they are participating but actually hurting the message.

“Black Out Tuesday” was supposed to be a stand of solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement. So what did people do? They posted on their Instagram feed a black square.

I don’t want to be a jerk, but not only does this not do anything to show solidarity or actually show people’s pain, struggle, or work on some type of actual SOLUTION – but it also completely blacked out and drowned out any other messaging that you may be searching for. When you searched the hashtag #BLM or #blacklivesmatter – all you got was a bunch of empty, black screens. This shows NOTHING. Literally nothing.

It is easy to do. Look, I am doing it now. I am sitting here behind this screen bitching about something. I feel like I am participating. I feel like I am “acting” – but this is nothing but being a keyboard warrior. Screaming with text or a picture but actually DOING NOTHING.

What can we do? Surely more than this.
